NI Central Investment Fund for Charities to hold Ministerial event

Following the success of the Shareholders Forum last year, the date for the next Forum has been set as Wednesday 27th February 2013. The event will take place again at Parliament Buildings.

The Minister for Social Development, Nelson McCausland MLA and members of the Charities Advisory Committee will attend, along with guest speaker Frances McCandless (Chief Executive of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland).

The event is held annually for existing shareholders and charities interested in investing in the Northern Ireland Central Investment Fund for Charities (NICIFC).

The NICIFC is administered by the Department for Social Development. The Fund aims to provide Trustees the opportunity to invest all or part of their assets in a supervised and professionally managed fund. The fund is managed by the Department through recognised fund managers (currently Newton Investment Management Ltd), but its investment policy is guided by a locally based Advisory Committee, appointed by the Department. The Department carries out all day to day administrative responsibilities at no charge and the Advisory Committee receive no remuneration. The fund managers charge a highly competitive management fee.
