The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland and Queen’s University Management School (QUMS) are hosting a joint conference entitled ‘Charity Accounting, Reporting and Regulation: Reflections and Imminent Changes’ in Belfast on Friday 4 October 2013.
The conference will provide an insight into the new draft Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for charities as well as information on forthcoming changes in charity accounting, reporting and regulation in Northern Ireland.
There will be presentations by Professor Noel Hyndman, Professor of Management Accounting and Subject Leader (Accounting) at QUMS; Frances McCandless, Chief Executive of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland; and Ray Jones, Head of Accounting Policy at the Charity Commission for England and Wales and Secretariat to the SORP Committee.
Delegates will have an opportunity to discuss and offer feedback on the proposed changes.
The conference will be held at QUMS, Riddel Hall, 185 Stranmillis Road, Belfast and will begin at 9.15am, with registration from 8.45am, and finish at 2pm.There is no charge to attend this event, though early registration is advised as places are limited.
